Yarn diet fall down and go boom. AKA Jadie's Economic Stimulus package

Um, yeah. That big package is 6 pairs worth of yarn and patterns. But who can say no?
And the brightly colored yarn? That's more from Nerdclub 2000 which of course NOW she has some purple *sigh*

The other envelope is my gesture at stimulating the Canadian Economy, something from Chicks with Sticks that I can't show you right now.

But, I am working out on my Wii Fit every day, and doing very well with my eating habits. So... I figure healthy lifestyle vs too much yarn? One isn't eventually gonna lead to diabetes or heart disease so who cares :D

Also, sweet sweet Dana nominated me for a Kreative Blogger Award. Thank you so much!!!
The rules say to nominated 8 other bloggers, but I simply can't narrow it down so please just review the links on my side bar and visit people who look interesting to you :) (Definitely check out Dana's sweet new niece though, and the bloggers she linked to.)

A contest! But not my own Post 200!!!

Let's Knit 2 Gether is having a contest. Anyone who's been reading me for a while knows that this is one of my favorite podcasts (back when I actually posted about podcasts haha) so please, go check it out. Cat shows many awesome techniques, and gets to go to awesome places, and they are looking for suggestions of what to do next. Their most recent video is a tour of the Lion Brand studios and Knit 1 magazine!

Also, if you watch the video you will notice they put out very high quality video. They are hoping to raise money to purchase a better editing system so that it does't take quite so long to get out new episodes. So please, if you enjoy the videos think about donating a few dollars.

I couldn't think of a contest to do for myself, but I also still can't believe this is my 200th post!!

Well, here's a few cat pictures, and my shawl progress so far... this is the end of Clue #1 and clue # 2 will be out on Monday! So I will hopefully be able to finish my hat today and then I can show that off too :) I opened the back blinds to get all the natural light I could, and the cats loved it :)

Oh and yes, the ring is back :) And it fits without the help of Socks that rock.

And last but definitely not least, Happy Birthday Thomas!!!!

May all your birthday wishes come true

The kindness of knitters - Pay it forward

Somethings I have grown to learn about knitters:
They are kind, generous of their time and talents, and they are some of the sweetest people on earth. In fact, tonight when I was at the post office waiting in line, and I sneezed, and the woman behind me said "Bless you" my first thought was "I wonder if she's a knitter."

This kindness and generosity was made no more apparent than when one of my knitty friends, Kyle had a Pay it Forward blog post. Someone had done something kind for him, so he was "paying it forward." And today when I checked my mail, I received his lovely handknit gift, just for me!!!

Tripsie thinks it smells like maybe Kyle has a pet ;)
(she got impatient for the flash - durn diva).

His picture does this gorgeous scarf much more justice than mine, so I hope he doesn't mind if I use it (no worries, I was very good and never once peeked).

Not only is it pretty (and PURPLE!!) but it is also the softest yarn I've ever felt. Now I just hope it gets cold enough to wear it soon :)

He also included some lovely notecards, which are available in his shop. Please note that a portion of the sale of these cards goes to benefit a no-kill animal sanctuary in Southern California so please check them out!

Thank you Kyle!!!
Now its my turn. Who would like something knit just for them, by me? I can't promise how long it'll take (It is Socktober after all)
Speaking of Socktober, here's my sock after the 3rd pattern repeat.

Nerd it up Monday!

I'm going to start calling Monday "Nerd it up Monday."
A lot of my weekly podcasts update between Thursday and the weekend, so I watch/listen to them all on Monday to get me through the day.
Diggnation
Ifanboy's weekly podcast
Langaming.net's Lancast (biweekly)
Smodcast.

Do you find any similar trends in your podcasts?
*crossposting to pownce without links*

also, today I got my pen that I mentioned last Wednesday.
Is very pretty! And according to the note included I can refil it easily.
Woot!
THANK YOU CRAFTINA!!!!

*twich*

Decided to try my first lace project with the yarn I got.
*twitch*
Its a bit nerve wracking... because... you cast on, then set up the first row, then knit like the wind until its the length you want... and then?
You cast off, and *twitch* let some of your stitches drop.
do it right? And it'll be beautiful. Like this only not diagonal.
Do it wrong? And everything unravels.
On a somewhat related note. One of the blogs I read, Mari Knits is giving away some yarn! Alls you gotta do is post a link to your first blog post. If you mention you got the link from me I'll love you forever. Or something?
K thnx bai.
