I love heels!!!

Ok, so yeah this is a bit silly, but I just love sock heels.
You start off with your round tube of fabric.

Then you knit a nice heel flap. (By the way, the below picture is the most accurate as far as color is concerned)

Do some magic short rows and voila you have a triangle!

Pick up all the side bits and you're one piece of fabric again.

And like MAGIC! You've got the better part of a sock!

This sock (and its future mate) are for Hubs. I'm using the Lorien colorway from the Unique Sheep LOTR Club. He said he wanted bright yellow socks, and when I saw the Charlie Brown cables I just had to put them together ;)

In other news, I got a package from Germany today :D Extra love to my mail lady for braving the weather to deliver it by hand.

IT'S WOLLMEISE!!!!!

I somehow just managed to be in the right place at the right time and caught an update.

I just keep thinking some kind of awesome green lantern shawl. Also, the yarn came with a really pretty glove pattern, and I might use the cable motif on something else.

Egads

Dang Facebook, eating my brain.
I could have sworn I'd posted more recently than this! Oh well.

We've been up to lots of stuff. We rearranged some.

If you are doing any gift knittig, I wish you well! I'm not knitting any presents, though I am working on a baby blanket as a request of a friend, and also knitting Hubs some socks.
Happy Holidays!

Wonderful friends and good times!

Tonight was our knit night and my gals (and guy) surprised me AGAIN!!!!
They threw me a bridal shower!!!!
I got a very lovely box STUFFED FULL! Of yarny wonderfulness

Same box, just a different view. I'll need to get individual shots of everything soon to post to Ravelry ;)
There was some handmade soap, which Kitty thought smelled pretty (truthfully he just wanted to chew on the plastic)
Tripsie was more interested in other aromas. :P

And a beautiful floral arrangement which was in the center of the table. I at first thought the flowers were artificial but they aren't! I love them so much!
Thank you everyone!!!!

Wait a minute Mr. Postman! (spoilers for Yarn Pirate)

Don't you think that in the midst of a rainy day and a tornado warning, that maybe you should have left my packages in the mailbox? And not on the welcome mat in front of our door?

Oh well. Luckily the rain didn't soak through to the yarn.

Here is some yarn from Knitting Dragon. I really love how fast he gets everything together and shipped out, and he even offers to wind the yarn for you (which I opted to do this time, since I knew I would not get to this project until later)

The color way is not very accurately represented in this picture, here a much better one from his shop :)

Also, I received my monthly shipment from the Yarn Pirate. If you don't want any spoilers, look away!

I love that this colorway is called Sweet Pea. That was Tripsie's name before her previous owner started calling her Tripod.

Well, that's about all that I can talk about :P Secret projects continue. Those who know what they are keep your mouths shut! :P

Yarn diet going better

I haven't bought yarn in a while!

Stitch Markers and a little surprise for someone from Lizard Toes

And last week I picked up some neat little cases, a pattern, and a water bottle from The Loopy Ewe.

What I didn't realize, is this order put me into the Loopy Groupies! HOORAY!!!

She sent me a sock pattern, some yarn, a calendar, and a awesome tote bag! And of course some Kisses.

At Gate City Yarn this weekend I got some buttons and a Knit Kit!

Here's the Knit Kit with its gadgets out. And a paw for reference... its a lot bigger than I thought.

On a separate note, my sister is growing up TOO FAST!!! This is her prom dress.

*sigh*

Yarn diet fall down and go boom. AKA Jadie's Economic Stimulus package

Um, yeah. That big package is 6 pairs worth of yarn and patterns. But who can say no?
And the brightly colored yarn? That's more from Nerdclub 2000 which of course NOW she has some purple *sigh*

The other envelope is my gesture at stimulating the Canadian Economy, something from Chicks with Sticks that I can't show you right now.

But, I am working out on my Wii Fit every day, and doing very well with my eating habits. So... I figure healthy lifestyle vs too much yarn? One isn't eventually gonna lead to diabetes or heart disease so who cares :D

Also, sweet sweet Dana nominated me for a Kreative Blogger Award. Thank you so much!!!
The rules say to nominated 8 other bloggers, but I simply can't narrow it down so please just review the links on my side bar and visit people who look interesting to you :) (Definitely check out Dana's sweet new niece though, and the bloggers she linked to.)

YAY MAILMAN!!! Or WOMAN!

So last week, my dad emailed me and asked me for birthday suggestions for my mom. Yes, her birthday is tomorrow! No, I won't tell you how old she is (But I'm almost 30 HAHAHHA *runs away*)

Anyways, while I think it was super-sweet of my dad to ask me for suggestions, it was also dangerous because it meant I was surfing the Loopy Ewe and Etsy while I was at work and away from my stash (it glares at me when I shop at home).

So... I kinda ordered this project bag. But hey! Not yarn!!!

It gets the seven paw seal of approval. It came with a lovely brown card and a stitch marker! I ordered it from Slipped Stitch Studios and felt it was a very good price. She says she updates daily and she wasn't kidding! I think I would have been torn if that pirate bag had been there. *sigh*

Also arriving today, was my first shipment of one of the clubs I joined last year. But c'mon how could I not?

Edgar Allan Poe has been one of my favorite authors/poets since I was able to read. And a whole sniffy/yarn club based on his writing?
In case you don't want spoilers... look away now!!!

Here's the yarn. Its Night's Plutonian Shore. *dreamy sigh* I love Knitting Dragon's yarn base, its so smooshy! There's equal parts blue and purple, but for some reason the purple was being shy.
I haven't gotten to the sniffy yet, because its down in the peanuts and Tripsie will eat them if I drop any. Also, I'm not sure I can smell because I"m getting a cold. meh.

Also today! WHEW! My knitting padawan learner James had said that if I kept up with all of my goals through January that he would buy me some yarn! Well, I kind of felt that rewarding myself for staying on a yarn diet with yarn (after only one month, and I havent' really been THAT good on that front) was kinda silly. Also they'd sold out of the one I wanted :P
So, instead he ordered me a Namaste Buddy and a Sock Blocker! Knowing Sherri they'll be here quick as a wink!

So, all in all pretty durn good for a Monday after 3 hours of sleep!
Also, I wanted to take an opportunity to remind everyone, that while the economy's getting stinkier, to remember people who depend on our hobbies to pay the bills, so think about buying handmade for Valentine's or buy some yarn and knit something for someone you love. (Or buy yarn for someone you love, I have a whole wishlist over on the Loopy Ewe).
Oh! And this weekend I finished my Mmmmmalabrigo hat!
Wee! Project #1 for 2009 done and from the stash!
