I actually have 2 awesome things I want to show you!

Firstly, a super awesome lady I've met through twitter.com makes beautiful jewelry! I don't wear much jewelry though, but I was delighted to find this bookmark on her website. (hopefully she won't mind me using her picture)


Here it is in one of my knitting books.


Honestly though I usually keep it in my Kindle as bling :)
It is absolutely lovely. Flourite is one of my favorite stones because it can be purple, green, white, or a combination!

Also, recently I saw this post over on Yarn A Go-Go. I love my purse, but all the stuff in it tends to jumble up in the bottom, making it often hard to find certain things. Like half the time I first reach for my phone i have a panic attack thinking I've left it somewhere.



So, I ordered one of the small purse organizers from Divide and Conquer and I just LOVE it. There's tons of color options so it is very easy to find one which will match your purse.

Now instead of everything being jumbled up in the bottom, it is all nicely organized and horizontal for easy reach. And the organizer itself comes out easily so you can switch your purses faster (assuming of course you don't have a skirt purse from My thirtyone)


A word of warning. if you have your purse around kittens or puppies, and you have a device with headphones (the little blue things coming out of my ipod in the picture) you may want to put them down in the pocket... In other news, I'm looking for new earbuds :P

Vacation!

So Sam and I have been deciding what to do with our mutual week off coming up the week of une 16 through 20th.

Every year, we had been going to Heroescon, in Charlotte NC. However, this year we've decided to forgo it. While it has always been a great experience (and I've been going since before we were together) its just too expensive, and a long drive for just a 3 day weekend. Plus, my parents will be vacationing that same week, so there's no point in driving to NC.
Other than the panels, there isn't enough to do to stay busy the entire 3 days.


One of Sam's co-workers discovered he had an extra ticket for Pearl Jam on Tuesday the 17th. So, we've decided to head to Virginia Beach. I'm excited! We're going to camp out! I've never camped out before. I'm looking forward to knitting by the campfire (but not too close!). Also, we will have access to showers and our own electricity. YAY Plus? KNITTING STORES!

I think we'll do that probably either Sunday or Monday through Wednesday morning. Then we're heading to Williamsburg! We got a great package deal to do Busch Gardens one day, and Colonial Williamsburg another, and it includes our 2 night hotel stay. I haven't been to Colonial Williamsburg, in probably about 15 years. I've been wanting to return ever since I started listening to the Colonial Williamsburg Podcasts.




I really like this plan, because then we'll be back home Friday, and can get all unpacked and rejuvenated and relax before having to go back to work on Monday. Oh, and love on the kitties until they don't hate us anymore for leaving them home.

Geek Pride, and an update

Sorry i haven't been on, I have been sickly. I don't want to whine too much on my blog, so I just did it on twitter ;)

Today I put on real clothes (not pajamas) for the first time since Wednesday, and decided to pull out one of my favorite shirts.

The panel I linked to is from a featured page he did of a group of us who went to San Diego Comic Con in 2006. I can't believe it was that long ago, it was lots of fun and I really hope to get back again.

As far as knitting goes, I finished a hat I was making for myself, but in my fevered stupor I somehow confused 6 inches with 3 inches for the brim.... we'll see how it looks after felting, but I have a feeling it'll have to make a neat bowl.

I have also been working on a beaded bracelet for the knitalong with Let's Knit together on Ravelry.

I hope everyone's having a good weekend, and has a good Mother's Day tomorrow for those who celebrate it.

In my comments from my last post, I learned that I won for the drawing on Craftina's Blog she hosted for Earth Day.
Just wanted to say I'm really looking forward to receiving the pen. For those of you who have been with me a while, you may remember Tina is who I ordered Mikey's and My mom's Christmas presents from.

Both items were beautiful and lovingly crafted. Mom has started an afghan on the needles, and the bottle stopper has a corkscrew in it, which was very handy when he and his lady brought wine with them for Christmas.

Justin the monkey is just about the cutest thing ever! He's so fun to watch... But look out, when he gets hyper you might want to turn the volume down.

So I was chatting with a friend tonight, and went to do a google search to show him that even when knitters are at book signings they KNIT! and I saw a picture of a woman in a black leather corset holding knitting needles. Color me interested.
Clicked the link and discovered this nifty nook on the net. Domiknitrix has quite a few very neat patterns, including free charts to put a Skull into your project, and other punk patterns.
Very nifty!

Woohooo! I'm done on my scarf for a co-worker in Richmond, and now back to the Christmas presents. Or maybe I should finish mine first.....

Tomorrow I'm picking up a free sewing machine from a friend at work, and I"m very excited :) I've got some big plans for around the new year so STAY TUNED!
